MujikMonday ♬ Lucite Rabbit

Yeah, I know, I know. What is UP with me and Indie music lately? The answer is I don’t even know. My fascination for these types of songs perhaps stemmed from my participation in K-Entertainment RP (role-playing game), but that’s pretty complicated to explain so I’ll just spare you from that and just give you this week’s MujikMonday featured artist.

Lucite Rabbit is like a female version of 10cm in that they’re also a duo playing wonderful music together. The group has Kim Sunyoung on the guitar and Cho Yejin on vocals, and what a lovely combination they make! The first song I’ve heard of them would be Spring, Spring, Spring which I stumbled upon on Youtube while looking for 10cm-ish sounding songs. Here, have a listen:

Spring, Spring, Spring (봄봄봄) — Lucite Rabbit

Spring Spring Spring
(English translation taken from The Lucite Rabbit Thread on Soomp!)

Blue skies, yellow air
It’s the perfect place to talk
So obvious, rushing and becoming hestant
Even if it’s a little boring, please listen
Your voice, your knees and eyelashes
Your everything, I like it all
Your cat, your house and mother
Your everything, I like it all
Your voice, your knees and eyelashes
Your everything, I like it all
Your cat, your house and mother
Your everything, I like it all
Blue skies, yellow air
It’s the perfect place to talk
Ooh~~~ I like it!

Now isn’t that a very relaxing song? It doesn’t hurt that the music video is also actually pretty whimsical in spite of it being quite simple. After listening to this song I wanted more, so I sampled more of their songs which were uploaded on Youtube, and I discovered this lovely little happy gem called Dugeun Dugeun:

Dugeun Dugeun (두근두근) — Lucite Rabbit

If you’re an avid viewer of a show called We Got Married, you’d perhaps have heard this song before. I’m not very sure when it was used, but I saw some comments on Youtube saying that this song was on one YongSeo (Jung Yonghwa & SNSD Seohyun) episode. I like this song so much I think I’ve listened to it on loop several times after I’ve downloaded it; it’s just sooooo sweet and addicting and happy. I just love happy, refreshing songs. ♥

Aaaand the third and last song for this week’s MujikMonday would be Play With Me in My Dream, which is now one of my go-to songs when I want to calm myself down in the face of work deadlines. Hee. I listen to it once and my shoulders kind of melt at the sound. Just what I need to relax when real life (ie. WORK) goes on overdrive and decides to annoy me more than it should. When I finally learn how to drive—and I wonder when that will happen—I’m definitely going to play a lot of Lucite Rabbit in my car, especially if I’m on a road trip perhaps somewhere up North.

Play With Me in My Dream (꿈에선 놀아줘) — Lucite Rabbit

I unfortunately have not found English translations to Dugeun Dugeun and Play With Me in My Dream just yet, but I’ll most probably just edit this post in case I find one (or be able to translate it myself, hah!) in the future. Meanwhile, here’s a good read about the amazing ladies behind the music of Lucite Tokki.

Happy Monday, everyone! ♥
